is the new kid on the blog usually we're  heavily reliant on facebook because it's such an  ,incredible marketing tool but lots of people are  getting heaps of success with the new entertaining  ,nature of tick tock ads so it might be perfect  for your brand this video is perfect for beginners  ,we're not going to skip any steps but i'm also  going to go into some advanced things around  ,content because that is so important to make sure  that you make tick tock ads work the first step  ,you're going to want to do is set up your shopify  store if you haven't set up your add sales channel this is the  ,exact same as facebook nowadays this will bring  up this little tick tock section down on the left  ,hand store of your shopify store if you don't have  shopify still carry on watching we're going to get  ,into the nitty gritty in a second once this is set  up we can click this section here setting up the  ,pixel the next step you can see that it's saying  connect tick tock for business this is where you  ,need a new tick tock account already have a tick  tock business account you can just click connect  ,but today we're gonna have to create a brand new  one so i'm just gonna click create new at the top  ,enter my email address get the verification code  sent into the verification code here agree to  ,terms and conditions and just click sign up you  can click connect down the bottom right and that's  ,now created an ads manager business manager under  that email we can click create new ad account and  ,we can select the country and the currency that we  want to be built in this is generally the region  ,that you want to be targeting change the business  name to something a little bit simpler click sign  ,up and connect you'll come to this data sharing  section which we've touched on a few times in my  ,previous episodes just click enhanced or maximum  providing you've got the terms and conditions set  ,up for something and then click confirm maximum  is obviously preferred this is how shopify shares  ,data with ticktock this is referred to as capi  which is a partnership between shopify and the  ,advertising platform click set up to action button as part of the ad,which i'll show you how to do,later in this tutorial they have a,buttload of likes,at 200k plus for this specific ad alone,which means they most likely,ran an engagement campaign on tick-tock,but the point here is you don't always,need to have a really fancy you know,dancing tick-tock video to succeed so,this is an example of an ad that works,and it's just a very,simple uh you know apparel video the,next one is,from nike this one's pretty interesting,have you watched this,you know ad loan by itself you're,probably going to wonder,how the heck is this working how does it,drive customers to,buy anything or do anything wouldn't,blame you but,what's going on here is also genius and,can drive virality the goal here is to,get,as many users to repost this as a duet,as you can see here they've reposted it,you know they've got some,engaging dancing going on more people,that repost this as a duet the more,eyeballs,that see this ad and the more today I'll be revealing my personal Tick,Tock ad strategy you only need fifty,dollars to get started and you can,quickly scale your stores once you have,a winner to get started we need to,install The Tick Tock app onto our,Shopify store inside of the tick tock,app though the first thing we need to do,is hit continue setup and we're going to,have to attach our business manager if,you've never made a business manager on,Tick Tock before just click create new,go through the steps and get your,account made so once your business,manager is added we can move on over to,our ads manager now I have a few of,these ad accounts already linked to,other stores but you can just click,create new and add a new one on the spot,if you don't have a registered business,yet you can put your first and last name,here or you can just put the name of,your Shopify store and just like that,our ad account is made so underneath,data sharing just go on over to maximum,there's no reason not to pick this this,is just going to get as much data from,the people on our site as possible and,for this Tick Tock pixel it'll Auto,automatically create this when you add,the tick tock app to your store the,pixel basically tracks all the actions a,customer takes on our website so if a,customer purchases then the pixel will,tell your Tick Tock ads manager which ad,in particular got that sale from here,though we can click confirm It'll ask,you for some basic info like your name,whatever but once that's good just hit,finish setup and now we can go on over,to tick tock so I can show you how this,ad strategy actually works quick,Interruption I launched a Drop Shipping,Discord server you can find the link in,my pin comment or at the top of the,description so come on over to,business.ticktock.com and this should,take you to the tick tock ads dashboard,so from here you want to come up top and,select your campaign now you're going to,notice there's a bunch of options here,but the one we want to focus on this product test day one,or however you want to phrase it it,really doesn't matter and we do want to,come on over to campaign budget,optimization so just toggle this on and,for the daily budget we're gonna put,fifty dollars this is the bare minimum,you can do if you don't know what,campaign budget optimization is don't,stress it now we'll cover it as the,video progresses though so now we can,come on over to continue and actually,edit at the ad group level so for this,we're just going to call this open one,now this won't make much sense yet but,very soon it'll all come together now we,want to send them to an external website,underneath Tick Tock pixel we want to,select the pixel we just made and for,our optimization event we want to select,complete payment now for placements you,want to come to select placement and,only put them on Tick Tock um these,other two apps don't really matter that,much now for the creative type you want,to toggle on automated creative,optimization again this is going to be a,little confusing now but once we go on,over to the next step it's all going to,come together and you're going to be,like damn I need to try this out now for,your targeting I like to select custom,targeting for the location I'm in the,USA so I Target United States but we're,also going to add Canada too because,that's a North American country for the,languages you can leave this as all I,mean Canada and United States mainly,speak English anyway so it's not a big,deal for the gender leave this as all,unless it's a female specific product,now for testing I always leave the,household income to all but let's say,you do have a winner then you can go,back and test some of these out later,now for audiences you can just ignore,this tab now when it comes to interest,there's a whole bunch of custom,targeting you can do however for the,sake of testing don't add any just leave,all four of these boxes blank leave them,default and trust me take talk is going,to know who your customer is after just,a few pennies spent on the platform and,they're gonna optimize that,like crazy now for device if you're,selling like a phone case you can choose,which device they're on but for me just,leave this is all and for Target,expansion you can leave this turned off,as well now for the budget we already,set it to 50 at the campaign level for,scheduling ads I always recommend you,put it for midnight of the next day so,boom we have it for the next day at,midnight literally going live one thing,a lot of people do as well though is,adding a specific time so instead of,running your ads you know 24 hours of,the day I know a lot of people who just,do like 7 A.M Eastern Time to midnight,so that way their ads are only really up,when people are active consumer spend  ,above youtube disney plus and netflix this  is probably the uh the biggest stat on this  ,screen ranking above youtube and netflix in  consumer spend is absolutely ridiculous so  ,it's a monumental opportunity for people and  businesses to sell their products on the platform  ,how many times have you spoken to someone they've  said ah i found that product on tick tock it's  ,happening a lot these days so let's jump on to how  you can actually make the most of that so this is  ,the tick tock ad structure so at the top we have  tick tocks ad manager then we have ad campaigns  ,we have ad groups we have ad creative and then  landing pages to break these down one by one tick  ,doc ads manager is where you manage your ticktock  advertising account similar to the facebook  ,ad manager now a ad campaign is the foundation  of your ad so we're setting up our advertising  ,objectives and formats we then have ad group which  is target audiences ad placements budget and the  ,bidding then we have the ad creative which is  the text and the video that will appear on our  ,apps what we're physically seeing then finally our  landing page and this is the destination url that  ,we are driving our potential customers too this  is the place where they will actually buy our  ,products or service so when you actually have your  tick tock ad account up and running this is kind  ,of what the format will look like we have our ad  manager at the top we have campaigns beneath that  ,then inside an ad campaign we would have multiple  ad groups so we'll be testing out jump into actually,creating this campaign so this is the,tick tock ads manager this is what it,looks like as you see up here we have,dashboard campaigns assets reporting,this is where you can see which account,you're inside of,and this is a brand new account so we,don't have anything kind of going on,inside of here i want to show you how to,set up some different settings inside of,here and the first things you need to do,after you have your account the first,thing you're going to want to do is,actually come here to assets you want to,create on events and you need to set up,your pixel on your website and the,reason why this support is important is,tic tac teens to be able to know,when users are hitting your site when,they're actually getting purchases or,filling out leads so that then you can,optimize those campaigns for better,performance so you can know your cost,per your cost per conversions,essentially so if you have an app you,would obviously click manage app events,but most people uh watching i assume are,going to be on web event so we're going,to do manage web events,and then we're going to create our pixel,and if this is your first time inside of,your ad account then you'll see the,exact same thing as you'll notice there,are two different ways you're going to,have a manual install code and,automatically set up web events via,partner platforms if you are using,shopify or google tag manager i do have,tutorials that i've gone through how to,set up your pixel for shopify and for,google tag manager um you can check out,those down below for this one we're just,gonna do it manually real quick i know,there's lots of different website,builders and things like this things,like that so this can this can kind of,it can be done in lots of different ways,but i want to show you an example here,real quick so like i said if you're on,shopify or google tag manager check out,the links below and i uh go follow those,real quick and then come back to this,video as well and then we're gonna hit,next here,and then we want to just do standard,mode we're gonna hit create here,and then now we have this pixel on our,that we are going to copy the pixel code,and it's going to say paste this code in,the header section of your website um,for this example we're going to do it in,a wordpress website go to plugins you,can add a new plugin i like the plugin,headers and footers is the one that i,use,let me see let me just show you an,example of what it looks like,header and footers,and if you already have the pixel on,your website feel free to skip through,all i will have time stamps down below,but is this one right here that i like,insert headers and footers once you have,that installed into your wordpress,website you can come over here to,settings you'll notice that it's right,here,and this is where you can edit or add,code really easily to your site as you,notice i have code already inside of,here just make sure that you go and go,beneath those ones and then we have the,tick tock code and that is inside the,header if you need to put code inside,your body or footer you could do that as,well then we're going to hit save and,now that code is inside of attention,to tick-tock ads right now now truth is,i've ignored tick-tock as a platform for,a really long time and i thought,to be honest i always wanted to rely on,just the good old facebook youtube,instagram but right now the results that,we're seeing on tick tock and the ads on,tick tock,is absolutely insane now to be fair this,is not about creating tick-tock viral,videos i do not know how to show you how,to make that happen why because and,maybe i'm hating on tick tock because i,don't know how to do the dance moves but,what i can tell you is that our findings,our return on ad spend on tick tock it's,been absolutely crushing it and in fact,is comparable to our best campaigns on,other platforms so today in this video,i'm gonna be taking you behind the,scenes to the full tik tok tutorial so,first of all like why you should be on,the platform the benefits over other,platforms as well as the set,how i think about creatives and i'm,gonna be taking you behind the scenes to,a do you'll be like this,is the best thing ever,yeah tick-tock ads so today we are,covering a very very different platform,it is a platform that i resisted for a,really long time because i,hated on it,really because i thought it's yeah,everybody gets it now right because i,thought it's just for kids and kids have,no money and that's what not where my,ideal audience is hanging out and on top,of that i always said you know i don't,know how to do these dance moves so,that's probably why i hit it on on that,platform even more and i never gave any,attention to it until,middle or towards the middle yeah middle,or towards the end of last year okay so,today what i'm gonna be showing you is,not how to build an organic tick-tock,following okay because that's not what i,do and i have,i hardly put any effort and attention,over there but rather how to run ads,effectively on tick tock uh now that,we've done that,a lot and one of the things that we've,noticed is the cost per lead and the,cost per sale,hands down,is lower than all other platforms it's,lower than facebook it's lower on,youtube it's lower than instagram so,today my goal is to be able to help you,see and test for yourself in your,marketplace,if that is going to be true for you as,well okay so i believe that when it,comes to tick-tock ads the first thing,that i wish somebody did for me was i,wish somebody put both hands on my,shoulders and said tick-tock is not just,for kids how many of you here would love,to be able to shortcut and build up a,profitable tick-tock campaign uh right,from the get-go okay whenever i show,something i always like to give you guys,like the importance of that first okay,and hopefully you guys are doing that um,the same thing when when you are,interacting with your audience right,always begin with the why,so why tick tock now how i always think,about like platforms and marketing is,marketers always spoil everything right,so when facebook ads came around in like,when it was just launched right very,early,2012,you know uh 2011 uh 2013 those were,times when if you did facebook ads price,at that time was cheap very cheap no i,wouldn't say it's because of inflation,it is because there are significantly,number one less advertisers on the,platform where the big brands like,coca-cola hasn't jumped all in into,buying up these ad spaces just yet,number one,the ad platform they're hungry okay,they're hungry to make sales and,therefore they're a lot more aggressive,so how i think about these ad platforms,what are they doing they're all trying,to sell you drugs okay
