creatives,definitely do not work well on tiktok,the reason for this they look too much,like ads so when you're running ads on,tick tock you want to make the creatives,look very native like i said tick tock,enjoys native content when people are,scrolling through their feed they're not,looking to look at an ad they're looking,to just watch another tick tock and if,it hooks them if there's a cool product,in the video they buy the product that's,kind of how it works that's how you get,good click-through rates that's how you,crush it on tick-tock ads high,production videos also don't work,usually they just look too out of place,if you go to the tick tock creative,center you'll see a lot of the videos,are not high production they're actually,lower quality videos and look like,someone just ordered the product and,filmed it real quick like it wasn't a,crazy thought out video now something,else that really doesn't work and we've,tried this is having a video with a lot,of blank space on the top or bottom now,what i mean by this is if the video is a,square video and then you have black,banners on top and bottom we tried,running a video like that the video was,amazing but the ad overall just,performed horribly and we came to the,conclusion that it was because it did,not look well it did not flow well on,people's tik tok feed they'd much rather,see a video of someone just reviewing,the product or something like that,rather than a product that looks super,high production it actually looks like,an ad that stuff really does not work on,tick tock which is actually kind of nice,because when i'm running facebook ads it,takes me a while to actually get,creatives because i'm not the one that,can create them so i have a video team,that actually edits them all together,and does that so it again takes a little,bit of time but with tick tock ads the,stuff that works is stuff you and myself,and anyone can go in and create it's not,like we need to have crazy editing,software or anything like that so what,works with tick tock creatives native,content works extremely well what i mean,by native content is essentially content,on the platform that flows actually kicking up while it,was running so at the top we see the,region they're from the United States,the industry is home decor the objective,for this campaign was a convergence,campaign obviously the source is Tick,Tock ads manager this picked up 58 likes,two comments and four shares so far but,if we go here so we can literally look,at the click-through rates we can look,at the CVR we can look at the clicks,conversions all these different types of,data points that we can look at to see,okay well they created their ad like,this and it performed kind of well or it,didn't perform kind of well whatever it,is and you can kind of see if that's,something that you want to also try if,that's a strategy you want to try if,that's a sound you want to try it that's,an effect you want to try whatever the,case may be,but not only do you have the,availability to look at the creative,itself you can also look at some of the,data to help you best make a decision so,again we can look through here they have,black text on the top and black text on,the bottom now from Tick Tock we know,these style of videos don't actually,convert very well even if it's a duet it,still won't work in the actual ad Style,videos because there's too much Blank,Space it doesn't put attention on the,actual product itself and it's not going,to drive a lot of conversions now it,might be okay for awareness but as you,know a small business or brand that's,looking to get sales it makes more sense,to focus on Tick Tock style creatives,that are actually going to convert,versus just going for an awareness based,play,so a style of video like this isn't,something you would want to actually use,for ads on Tick Tock and believe it or,not even big Brands out there still have,not figured it out they literally are,you know engulfed with corporate uh,individuals that just don't understand,Tick Tock but they know they need to be,on there but they're putting up the,wrong type of content so even the big,Brands don't necessarily understand how,Tick Tock ads work and more than,anything this looks more like a,commercial than it does an actual Tick,Tock video and if we know one thing Tick,Tock doesn't like ads they like tick,tocks so let's look at the next Dollar,Video you don't want to do so for this,one you don't want the black you know,boxes at the top or any space where,there's just nothing going on next video,style that you want to avoid is Tick,Tock Style videos that look like,Facebook ads this might be a fine,Facebook ad where it's a cell where it's,showing the different products but this,isn't going to work on Tick Tock,literally these videos here you know,there's white text it looks like it's an,ad it was created somewhere else other,than Tick Tock they're showing their,logo first which is automatically going,to you know result in a swipe through,they're optimizing for traffic so they,clearly don't know what they're doing,and you can really tell that this ad was,probably just pulled from another one of,their you know swipe files that they use,on Facebook or Instagram and what works,on Facebook and Instagram doesn't,necessarily work on Tick Tock so you,definitely don't want the style of,videos here and these white backgrounds,great for Facebook not on Tick Tock,specifically so never do your logo first,you always want to focus on the product,and what's up marketers i'm super excited,about today's video because it's,actually going to be my first one about,tick tock ads now if you follow me over,on twitter you already know what a huge,tick tock ads fan i am i am super,bullish on this platform and i think it,has the most potential for growth in,2022. think like facebook ads in 2017.,this is why i'm stoked to partner with,my very good friend need to,test right now on the platform many of,these i learned directly from savannah,they are pure gold as to what is,actually working on this platform and,frankly they're also what is performing,on facebook ads as well so let's go,ahead and dive right in the first,strategy is what i like to call a,problem solution ad now this is actually,a pretty standard approach to creating,not only all user generated types of,content but also just most types of ads,but what makes this tick tock specific,of course is the use of different types,of tick tock style font and also the,different types of transitions but,here's the actual recipe that i use to,create that kind of content first we,like to describe the problem in the hook,so that's within the first three seconds,of the ad and i like to use i statements,with quotations it makes it seem a,little bit more relatable and then after,that you agitate or elaborate more on,the problem and then you present your,product or service as the solution to,that problem and then describe the,how-to of your product or service this,is really common more like,subscription-based brands or if you have,to take some kind of quiz to get matched,up to your specific type of product or,whatever and then you can add in as many,benefits and features as you want and,then end with a really catchy cta and,strategy number two definitely a,savannah special is the tick tock made,me buy it ad and the recipe here is,pretty self-explanatory in the hook you,use the phrase tic toc made me buy it or,some variation of that phrase and i like,to do two things here i either like to,have it overlaying with a video or image,of the actual product or of someone's,face then you get to introduce the,product of course if you already didn't,do that in the first hook,but i like to encourage my creators to,think like an influencer here um you,know really think about how you can show,it more aesthetically use some golden,hour lighting or do some fun transitions,and then you can go into as many,benefits or features as you want and,then end with a catchy cta number three,is a goodie and i might say that it's my,current fave i've actually personally,used this strategy across multiple,clients and for one client in particular,i'm not kidding it cut the cpa on,facebook ads in half practically,overnight,so if you have to choose one strategy to,test out of all 10 of these,i might try this one and this is the,tick tock response strategy and the,recipe here looks like this in the hook,you have to use the tick tock response,bubble and try to make it look as native,as possible i would go ahead and do it,right in the tik tok ads app and then,export it out and then compile the rest,inside of premiere pro or cap cut and i,would actually encourage you guys to,test as many different things inside of,that tick tock response bubble as you,can and i would actually encourage you,guys to test several different types of,messaging within that tick tock response,bubble and my suggestions here would be,to think about the inherent value of,your product or think about specific,benefits that you hear over and over,again and try to keep the tone really,really casual you want it to feel like,it's something that someone would be,responding to a piece of content on,tiktok and i've also seen that using,emojis directly in that bubble tends to,help as well after that i like to follow,up with a strong positive testimonial,about the product and then go through,the different product variations or even,a how-to using the green screen method,or showing the website flow then throw,in another strong testimonial or benefit,and then close out with a strong cta and,then number four is what internally at,theseus we call the stepwise video now i,have made other videos where i featured,this ad type before,and i still really recommend it i,believe what savannah calls this is the,three reasons why strategy and here's,how the recipe the platform for quite some time,right now I've been able to Garner some,type of results whether it's leads,whether it's conversions I've even gone,as far as hiring paid actors for my Tick,Tock ads for a couple of Pilots that I'm,running that I can't put my face behind,and I've also done a couple of tick tock,ads with my face behind them and we'll,also be looking into Tick Tock,e-commerce ads so stay tuned alright so,first set of ads that I basically want,to look at are essentially e-commerce,ads now there's a particular subset of,tech talk ads at the moment that I find,very very appealing and I think that,these advertisers are absolutely killing,it the strategy is very very simple like,there's nothing complicated about it get,the product that you want to sell with,quite content with it test the content,organically and on ads as well and if,the content sells if it drives traffic,to your landing page you then,essentially have a winning product the,product though has to be interesting it,can be a product that's boring if you,look at this ad for example you'll,understand exactly what I mean but here,we're basically looking at something,that seems to be somewhat of a manicure,thingy
