it was completely free 99 i just had to,dig for the link they,they don't want you to find it but,as someone who comes from actively using,square and squarespace for all of my,internet and e-commerce needs i,am pretty new to shopify but i really do,enjoy it for product-based businesses,i've been recommending it to anyone who,wants to sell,products wants to sell physical items,and ship them off to people,but one thing that i found is that when,i'm ready to sell in person i don't have,the hardware that i need to swipe cards,and take payments,um and i'm used to coming from square,where they give you those things for,free,so i went on the shopify hardware,website and there was a bunch of options,that started at like 50,and i'm like i know that they have to,have a complimentary option,just for people to get started to use,their software which is called point of,sale for shopify,so i looked in a shopify forum and it,gave the directions of how to get the,free hardware,it said go to your sales channel,settings,in your store go to point of sale and,then you'll be able to order the,hardware from there,i did the steps there's no option to,order this free hardware anywhere,so basically what i had to do is just do,my googles real hard,and find the link for the free hardware,and i eventually found it,so i ordered my free hardware i got it,in the mail and i want to show you guys,what it looks like,it came in just this regular mailer,didn't even have any like shopify,branding our name on it and here,is what i received,so this is the chip and swipe reader,so it can work wirelessly to accept,credit cards they can either,put it in this way or swipe it this way,um,it says from selling out markets and,pop-ups to starting online stores,shopify makes it simple,and again i did not pay for this at all,i didn't have to pay for shipping,it was completely free 99. i just had to,dig for the length they,they don't want you to find it but i,found it um so,when you open it up it is nice and,compact of course it comes with the,accepted here,labels if you have a physical shop and,you want to put that up i love that it,comes with a branded carrying case this,is like a hard shell,case so that way you can keep all the,pieces nice and neat together,and then when you open it up,all right let's try this safely when you,open it up the device,is right here on the inside,and it's actually a two-piece system so,this is the part that actually accepts,the card,you can either dip it or swipe it in the,front,and then there's a base piece that is,what makes it wireless i believe,so the swipe actually sits on top of,here,while you're selling so it's about the,size of my hands pretty compact it's not,as small as,the um actually it's pretty comparable,this is the wireless,reader with dip,chip acceptance from square so this is a,little comparison as far as life goes,okay so i haven't tried it yet i'm gonna,plug it up,make sure it works see if it's something,i'm going to actively use but yeah i,just wanted to share the fact that you,can get this for completely free you,don't pay for any shipping,i don't know if there's something that,they want to like,discontinue offering so eventually the,link will no longer work but the link,worked for me and i got my device and so,i want to make sure that you get yours,as soon as possible so,go into the description tap the url,and go get your shopify swipe hardware
