How to Make Shopify Pages Look Professional

what's going on everyone it's Jamie here, from Shopify masterclass and today I'm,going to be looking at how to make your,Shopify Pages look professional this can,be a big issue especially for newer,Shopify stores and it's really easy to,tell that the store is brand new based,on five different points we're going to,look at now these points are going to be,Corrections that you can make and things,to avoid so make sure you stay to the,end of the video to get all five now, before I dive into it I just want to,quickly thank our sponsor profit calc, the one click profit calculator, available on the Shopify app store it's,going to allow you to skip those, spreadsheets and get back to Growing, your business and it's going to come, with a 15 day free trial so you can test, drive everything for yourself there's a,link in the description below to access, that and now I'm going to show a quick, video detailing their full feature set,are you a Shopify business owner who, spends hours doing your accounting have, messy spreadsheets kept you from growing, your business discover profit cap the, affordable and easy to set up Shopify, app that crunches your numbers in just, one click it on automatically syncs with, all your accounts and expenses to,calculate your profit displaying, everything in an easy to read dashboard,so you understand your business in real, time start for free on the Shopify app, store today so now let's dive into our, five points on how to create, professional pages and the first one is,going to be language so the first part,of language is that you want to be,proofreading all the content on your, website to make sure there are no,spelling and grammar errors it can be,very off-putting and kind of just a,sense of unprofessionalism if there are, spelling errors make sure you're running,at least your content through something, like grammarly and proofreading it out, loud you can even pay someone else to,proofread your website or have a friend,do it because these are little tricks, here to help make sure that your content,is sounding and reading correctly to the, reader and realistically you should be,doing this for all the content and Pages, you create on your Shopify store the, second part of this is to have detailed, product descriptions so you want to make, sure you're taking the time to actually, explain your product when it's about the, benefits the features so the customer, has a clear understanding of what this, product is all about so we take a look,at a product that bellroy makes that, makes slim wallets here so we take a,look at the language here this part here,is a breakdown of the feature set and,the benefits here if you scroll down, they have all the features listed in a,very detailed manner to give you an idea,of what the product is about and the, benefits it offers you also want to make, sure that you're tailoring your word, choice to the audience and you're going, for more a sophisticated audience, depending on your product line you want,to make sure you're using language that, resonates with that user this can also, affect the tone it's going to be light, and playful or is it going to be more, serious you're better or they went for, more of a direct tone really explaining, exactly what you need just a few, sentences the next one is going to be,images you want to make sure you have, clear and relevant product images they, are made of professional quality and, they show the product in use all of,which are going to give the customer, answers to the questions that they may, have how big is the product what does it,look like in real life is it the right, color I want is there all questions that, can be easily answered in images so if,you take the line that an image is worth,a thousand words this can really beef up,your product descriptions with really, high quality photos if we go back to,Bell right here they have tons of,product imagery so they have their,Gallery slider at the top giving you, detailed of different aspects you can,see it filled with some money here we,can see all the cards it's going to,include they also have a video okay if,you're showing more detail on the, product so you can really see it what it,looks like in person it's also a really, easy way to show all the features here,we also have plenty of images of the, product in action so you can see I'm,putting in his jacket taking out money, putting cards in there's always a,detailed image of everything that fits,so judging by these product images here, you'd have a very good idea of what this, product is about how it's going to look, and the sizing of it is going to answer,a lot of your questions there the next, one's going to be color so it's going to,apply to your overall website in general,so do you have a coordinated color, scheme and is it relevant to your, industry before we take a look at some, examples let's take a look at the, meetings and associations of different, colors we can see red is anxiety, arousing it's daring it's dominance, energy orange is more for abundance, arousing yellow is cheerful green is,common Comfort blue is also common, comfort as well so it's why most social, media platforms use blue as their main, color purple is authenticity it's,Charming it's also for the upper class, ink is cheerful feminine so you see a,lot of makeup brands or fashion brands, use Pink as their primary color brown is,more Dorsey black is dignified in,efficiency whereas white is calm and,Clarity let's apply that and look at a,few store examples so we take a look at,Helix it's a personalized mattress brand, there's quite a few colors we can see,red is their action color here so that's,going to be tension grabbing its action, seeking that's why they use that there, they used a lot of blue here for the, text they also use some common colors so,a lighter blue and a kind of bluish, green here as well as we know blue, signifies calm that makes sense given, for the mattress industry so we take a,look a site such as color pop they use, black as it's more dignified It's,associated with a lot of different, fashion brands and so you use black as,their primary color here for their,Shopify store it also applies to the, overall color scheme of your website if,we look at something like Rent the,Runway they go for a white background, here which allows their products to pop, here especially the brighter color ones,we can see they use a lot of black to,again allow the product images to pop we,see some of their call to action buttons, here such as take the quiz is going to,be in black as well the same thing, applies to a gym shock here we can see, some of their call to action buttons are, going to be in white based on the, product imagery same goes for the quick,ad here as a lot of their products are, very brightly colored so you can really, see them especially on the gray, background here if we take a look at,their add to cart page I went with a,bright ish blue it's actually maybe, maybe more in the medium there but it,does really pop out in comparison to,everything else apart from the product, imagery so many Shopify themes are going,to come with pre-built color schemes you, really just want to make sure that it's,consistent and it's not kind of just, popping all over the place you don't,have 10 different bright colors in your, website you want to do things such as,make the add to cart or the call to,action button more visible you typically, want to go for a light background theme, most eCommerce stores don't have a dark, theme if you're curious for examples if,you simply just Google something such as,eCommerce color palette you get a ton of,different examples of what other, companies use the exact color palettes, they're using and why they're using them, next let's take a look at reviews you, want to have a review app on your, website as soon as you launch to start, collecting reviews for your products you, want to be gathering reviews by real, people you don't want to be creating a,bunch of spam ones you want to ideally, have them with your photos this is going,to all add credibility to your Shopify, store the customer is going to come on,and see oh this company has real, customers they're actually shipping out,the product the product looks exactly, what it looks like in the images, customers can also leave reviews on,things such as size so does it fit a,little large does it fit a little small,it's going to answer so many questions a,customer gonna it's gonna have and it's,going to make your site look more, professional and more real there's a,website called lanyards they sell, skateboards and longboards and in the, reviews here they collect things such as,the level fun the board and build, quality the stability as well as the, board Flex these are great things to,collect here as they're going to be,relevant to these products and they're,going to answer these questions that, potential customers may have they're,just going to make your Shopify Store, look so much more real and professional, here so overall this is a great example,of different reviews that are collected,as they also are going to collect the,age range The Experience where they, usually skate to give you an idea of,where this product is good for and, possibly what demographic it's meant for,as well lastly it's going to be the, format of your website now this is,really going to change too much as if,you use a Shopify store theme it's gonna, have a pre-built format so what I mean,by this is where the customer expects, everything to be so if they come to the, home page here they can expect a header, they're going to expect navigation at,the top you don't want the navigation to,be in the footer menu unless it's an,additional navigation a customer is,going to expect things such as the add,to cart button to be on the product page, they don't expect the card here to be in,the top right the logo is usually in the,top left there's gonna be conventions, that almost all websites have so a,customer is going to be expecting that,in terms of the product pages they, expect the product images typically on,the left here they're going to see some, kind of gallery their title on the top, right a description as well as the add,to cart button and they'll usually see, things such as a header on the top and a,lot of times it's just a chat widget,it's gonna be in the bottom left or,bottom right then these are conventions, that you don't want to break as a,customer is going to expect them so make, sure you're not going away from those, and overall as I said if you have a,Shopify theme or any website thing, they're mostly going to have those, conventions built in so just make sure, you're not adding anything to move away, from it so overall this concludes the, video on how to create professional, pages and how to make your Shopify Pages, look more professional so again those, five tips are going to be language, having really high quality product, images sticking to a good color palette, selecting and displaying reviews as well,as standing to expected website formats,if you enjoyed the video I would love it,so much if you hit that like And,subscribe button below if you have any, questions or suggestions leave a comment, below as well lastly I want to mention, our sponsor profit calc again the one, click profit calculator app and there's,a link in the description to access a,15-day free trial there thank you so,much for watching and I'll see you in,our next video
