Guru silence me so about,a year ago I'm in the decision to push,all my chips forward and go all in with,Tick Tock ads because I'm an absolute,Savage and through this experience I,manage over a hundred plus ad accounts,with my agency blue ocean digital and we,spent over well over seven figures in ad,spend on this platform alone so I want,to share with you the eight lessons that,I've learned through this experience of,managing tons of different ad accounts,of seeing what works and what doesn't so,that you can avoid the mistakes I made,initially and be able to scale any,product successfully on Tick Tock so in,the Drop Shipping space there's been,this mentality for years especially with,Facebook ads that when you test a,product you should be ruthless if it,does not give you results on the first,day the product is not a winner you did,nothing wrong and it is all all the,product's fault now I would agree with,that a few years ago but nowadays,especially if you're using Tick Tock ads,to advertise I would say you have to,give it time with Tick Tock ads,especially it's a new platform and when,you do ads that are usually going to be,broad with your targeting you have to,typically give it a few days for tick,tock to optimize and Find Your Right,audience and the best example of this,and I've showed this countless times,it's a brand that we worked on where,when we were initially setting up their,campaigns on the first day you can see,we had three different campaigns going,on they spent around 200 in total and,all three campaigns were either Break,Even or unprofitable now for the,majority of dropshippers they would say,all right I need to kill this product,I'm not getting my instant feedback and,results I'm not a millionaire yet well I,better throw away this product but the,one thing we did is we wanted to give,this one more day with Tick Tock and we,wanted to see if we give it one more day,would Tick Tock find our Right audience,after this day of optimization and on,the second day without changing or,without killing anything our roas went,up triple on every single campaign,without touching a thing and I know with,media buying a lot of us have the,tendency of being incredibly Hands-On we,want instant results if it's not working,immediately we want to perform surgery,we want to change everything and realize,okay we've totally messed up but with,Tick Tock sometimes it just requires,patience I believe with most platforms,you can definitely expect results almost,instantly but with Tick Tock this is the,platform I realize that needs the most,patience sometimes it takes multiple,days it takes a lot of tweaking around,with your creatives with your offers,with so many different things and you've,got to give it time because you might,have a winning product but you just,didn't give it enough time or enough,budget for tick tock to find the Right,audience and find the right creative,that is really speaking to your audience,because Tick Tock is not perfect it is,not like Facebook it is not at all these,years of refinement and tweaks to the,algorithm and because of that a lot of,times you just have to give it a little,bit more time with your ads so that's,why I always recommend when you're,testing a product give it a few days of,spend I usually will test each product,with two days worth of spend because as,you can see right here with this example,when you do give it that extra day to,all right let's first on day one just,focus on showing our answer as many,people as possible then in day two let's,narrow it down and then show our add to,whoever is the audience and the perfect,target market that is clicking on her ad,and buying the product and this,principle applies to when you're scaling,as well when you are doing a campaign,where you're duplicating let's say your,winning audiences five times and you're,setting a higher daily budget I,understand that can be a lot of money,but sometimes you have to give it two,days if on the been,stealing like a bunch of content from,people on take talk and the way that he,has been,addressing the situation is so funny to,me i'm an,actor he says he's an actor so it's okay,admittedly i am a couple weeks late,talking about this so you might have,already heard all of this before but i,just think that it's so funny and such a,unique situation i've never seen,anyone act like this in real life before,so i just,i really want to talk about it okay,before we get to all the good stuff let,me just give you a little bit of,backstory real quick new maine has,millions of followers on tic tac right,now he has 2.7 million followers he's a,very prolific creator he's like posting,every day it seems like,he's always posting like banger tick,tocks that seem to do really well on the,tick tock algorithm i mean they all have,like millions of views some of them even,have millions of likes this one has 1.7,million likes and let me just show you,one of these so that you can get like a,concept of the type of stuff that he,posts hey hold up,hold up hold up,that is good because it caught,because it's gas because it's a gas,station so yeah just funny little videos,they have a quirky little concept like a,guy trying to fill up his,electric car with gas and a gas station,employee coming out and saying,guys things have been going really well,for new maine i've actually seen him on,my 4u page like a bunch of times without,even realizing he was like the same,person in all of these tick tocks but,then about a month ago this other dude,joey bailey who is,another content creator on tick tock,he's a bit smaller than new maine made,this compilation of,new mains tick tocks side by side with,the ones that he's stolen showing that,all of them are like,literally shot for shot remakes of other,people's tick tock this tick tock went,pretty viral it's got 1.9 million likes,right now and this is when people,started to realize just how much,new maine was stealing on tiktok now,before we get into what happens next,i should say that like i know that,stealing tick tocks is not the biggest,deal in the world to a lot of people i,feel like when it comes to,copying content on tick tock pretty much,everybody has a different view on it,personally i try to steer clear of,posting the exact same joke that i've,seen someone do before,and if you do reuse a joke on tick tock,i'm generally of the mindset that like,it's not a huge deal as long as you tag,the person and give them credit,if you really didn't come up with a joke,then you shouldn't be passing it off as,your own thing but i know that some,people on tick tock straight up don't,care,they just want to watch funny stuff and,if something funny comes up on their,page they don't really care how it got,to them plus,tic tac is an app that's basically built,around the concept of copying content,there are so many songs where if you,click on the audio it's literally like,the exact same joke with just a couple,words switched out to make it more like,relatable to a specific person's life,however,i would argue that new main is not doing,any of that it's not just like new maine,was like hopping on trends and not,giving credit to the person who,originally started the trend,new maine was like directly copying,people's ideas word for word and in fact,in many cases even,lip syncing their audio but then when he,posts the video he would go out of his,way,to make sure that it doesn't post to the,original creator's audio so he would be,mouthing words that somebody else is,speaking but when you click on the audio,on his tick tock it just takes you to a,sound that he owns and he's the only,person who has made a tick tock with,that sound so,yeah i don't think it's really the same,as just like hopping on a trend that,everybody else is doing it seems pretty,malicious right tic tac makes it so easy,to use a popular sound and credit the,person who made the sound all you have,to do on tick-tock,is click use this sound and then you,post it and everything's taken care of,for you it could not be easier,to steal content ethically but for,whatever reason this dude is going out,of his way,to i don't even know how he's doing it,he but luckily,you know things picked up and we saw,we we really saw the potential both on,the outside of things and also when i,blew up personally on the platform my,first uh out of my first three videos on,the platform two of them got over three,hundred thousand views um it was just uh,the story um and that really led me to,wanting to dive deeper on this and and,try and mimic that for our brands,now was that 300 000 views those first,few videos on the platform was that like,your personal brand or was that more for,the skincare brand you're working with,that was for my personal brand ashley,and uh,if you look at my profile today you're,not gonna be able to see them you're,gonna see the likes on the profile that,are very high um that is i mean honestly,i'm kind of ashamed of these videos,they're more kind of joke videos i was,following trends back then uh but yeah,it's two two out of the first three,videos on the platform just blew up and,those were,again during the pandemic i was a,student so i was kind of making students,jokes just felt like the audience,related from that and,yeah just wanted to get more into that,after seeing the potential that the,platform had,awesome what is going on guys today i'm going to,be teaching y'all how to,properly set up a tick tock ad,conversion campaign,i'm going to be setting it this up for a,client so i thought i'd bring you along,for the ride,so let's get right into it as you can,see here we are,in the tick tock ad manager at the,dashboard level what we're gonna do,is actually click up here on campaign,and now that we're here all we have to,do is click on create,so for those of y'all that don't,understand how this is structured it's,basically a three-tier system you have,the campaign level,the ad group level and the ad itself,which would be the creative level,uh right now at the campaign level we,have five different advertising,objectives we have reach,traffic app installs video views and,conversions,for this specific campaign i'm gonna be,optimizing for conversions,one thing that i do suggest is keeping,your naming,as cleanly as possible um,this is going to help you understand,what campaign,which campaign is which and which ad,group is which and i'll give you some,suggestions on best practices,on how to actually label those here in a,second i'm not going to be split testing,at this level right here,the reason being is because i'm going to,be using automated creative optimization,for this which essentially,builds out an endless amount of ads for,me instead of me having to do it,manually,and it's my understanding if i do a,manual split test here,i can only use one ad in each split in,each ad group,so that's not something that i want i'm,just going to be doing that manually,down the line and i'll show you how i do,that and budget,we're going to be setting that at the ad,group level,click continue,awesome so as you can tell we have a,really shabby,ad group name i'm gonna leave that for,the time being uh,when i actually get further down the,line i'll come back and i'll edit that,and i'll show you why,but let's talk about placements when it,comes to placements i do suggest that,you,untoggle everything except for tick-tock,specifically,because as you can see right here right,off the bat uh vigo i'm going to go,ahead and zoom this,in why is that 80 oh my okay uh,vigo is only available in india hello is,in india as well,and pangol is in japan korea and taiwan,so those aren't countries that i'm,looking to target for this specifically,i'll give you a little bit more,information about what this product is,here in a second,or just right now so essentially what,i'm looking to advertise,is a um i'm sending people to an opt-in,page,and i'm trying to capture their name and,email uh the reason being,is simply because i'm it's a freemium,model it's a chrome extension,that helps college kids or kids,transitioning into college,better apply for colleges and get into,better colleges so that's sort of the,demo that i'm going after,and that's just the model of their,business now that being said we have to,select,our tick-tock pixel for those of y'all,that don't know what a tick-tock pixel,is,very simply put it allows you to track,different events and conversions on your,site,if you don't have this installed yet i,made a separate video on that and i'm,going to go ahead and link it down below,in the description definitely check that,video out beforehand,make sure that that's properly installed,because without that you won't be able,to track your campaigns you won't be,able to track the conversions on your,campaigns and essentially you're just,throwing stuff,up against the wall and seeing if it,sticks so,we're going to go ahead and select that,and just a brief explanation,as to how these events are set up it's a,two-step process so,one would be the page view which is this,link the opt-in form,and then the second one is the form,submission so the form submission takes,them to like a thank you page,and whenever they actually land on that,thank you page this event is triggered,specifically,so we're going to optimize for the form,submission because that's what we,want name just go ahead and name it,whatever your business name is,very simple one thing to note you do not,need a tick tock account to advertise on,tick tock,you just need a tick tock ad account,it's not like instagram or facebook or,anything like that,go ahead and upload a profile image same,thing just a profile picture that,represents your business,open that,awesome now category these next two,things,are really to allow tick-tock to further,understand,what your product represents what your,service represents,and who you're actually trying to target,so we're going to try and
