brain a little bit ask him what,you should be doing on tick tock,and maybe even what i should be doing on,tik tok so andrew thank you so much for,joining me on the podcast i,very much appreciate it thanks so much,for having me on the podcast bruce i'm,super excited about it,you know we've been friends for a while,now uh and i've been watching what,you're doing,and following your advice that you've,been giving inside of the tick tock,facebook group,and you know i've been always curious,about tick tock i've been watching it,for a little bit now,but i've never really figured it out,never really figured out how i could,leverage it and not only,myself but like how could businesses,leverage it so i said you know what,andrew's gone from zero to what you have,over a hundred thousand followers now on,tick tock,you've experimented with a whole bunch,of different things you've shown a bunch,of people what they should be doing so,who better to have come on the podcast,and kind of join and share some tips on,tick tock than you so i very much,appreciate you doing it,yeah absolutely i'm super excited i love,the platform so anything i can share and,help with to understand it better,because,it's a confusing platform if you've,never seen it before 100,especially if you're not like native to,the whole atmosphere of tiktok now,give a little background about what,you're up to right now sure absolutely,so i kind of took tick tock i used to,work in the restaurant consulting,business,learned marketing i really understood,how to leverage social media for,businesses,and then i was like okay i got burnt up,from the restaurant industry i was,struggling through things mentally and i,said okay i need to figure out the next,step what's my next evolution of,business,and it kind of went back to the roots of,what i was doing was when i've been,trained in nlp and trained in,hypnotherapy i was like,there is a lot of mental health stuff,going on that i want to really help,bring forward of how the mind actually,works so,what better way to utilize that than,social media especially with everything,that we've been going through the last,few months it's like,going on a tick tock that's the next,generation that's a younger generation,it's not people that are in their 50s,and 60s where they're hanging out,it's like the 12 to 18 year olds and,what's really cool is that,the biggest group of people on the,platform are between the ages of,18 to 35 and now it's actually allowed,for,old the older generation to actually pop,on the platform but i've really,switched gears into more people,understand it as life coaching but it's,more breakthrough coaching,because i actually help people process,how the mind works,and then we're able to shift through,that and then the influencer realm all,my,industry knowledge of business helping,influencers actually,shift from just allowing themselves to,have a platform and make money through,brand sponsorships to actually,building a business outside of that so,if something were to happen tomorrow,with tick tock,or youtube or anything they would still,have a business today,that's smart because you know these,platforms come and go um and you know,facebook and instagram have been around,for a little while those are the ones,everybody really knows but,you know these platforms they come and,go and you never know,if they're going to be really hot today,and gone tomorrow and you see a lot of,the people,who build up these followings and,they're solely reliant on that one,platform so it's a smart strategy to be,able to kind of like pull people off and,be able to,monetize and grow their businesses,without being reliant on that platform,mm-hmm so why tick-tock for you like,what made you,attracted to tick-tock and get started,on that platform,so tick tock started off i learned about,it back in october,and it was one of those things where i,downloaded it and i was,weirded out i opened up the app and they,were like,they were like 15 year old girl dancing,and,like stuff that didn't really make sense,and i was trying to scroll through it,i'm like,what makes this platform so attractive,to people,and i got sucked in like when i got,sucked in i got sucked in by all of,these trends because they're unique,they're fun,yeah i don't know exactly what trend it,was but,they were just it was different it was,something refreshing it wasn't,a perfect instagram photo with a caption,and like hashtag blessed,it wasn't facebook where you're just,seeing sponsored ad after sponsored ad,it was something that was raw real and,just,wasn't filtered and i was like okay,that's

i've been talking a lot in my videos,recently about how i'm finding facebook,ads a lot less reliable when it comes to,lead generation and reliable in general,when it comes to advertising,but advertising helps fuel the fire if,you watch my video subscribe to go and,get that if you if you watch my video,the other day where i talked about my,new campfire methodology,which talks about the new way to grow,with video in 2022 and beyond and you,can get the blueprint for that by the,way at mattjohnsononline.com,free blueprint um i talk a lot about how,instead of ads being the major,structure that drives everything it's,going to be i believe and what i'm,seeing in testing you're going to have,to spend a little bit of money on ads,and using organic to sort of blow,everything up there's a whole,methodology and training on that in that,blueprint if you grab it there,and what i'm using lately and having,success with is tick tock and,i've been testing facebook ads right,alongside it just to make sure that i,wasn't seeing the wrong numbers or,whatever it might be and while my tick,tock ad numbers are not exactly,mind-blowing,they are massively better than facebook,and they also are much more in line with,what i was willing to pay for similar,ads on facebook before so what i'm going,to show you in this video today is how,to run a lead generation campaign on,tiktok to build your email list i'm,going to show you exactly what i'm doing,all right okay so let's jump right into,it um so basically what i'm doing is i'm,driving leads to a very specific offer,it's just a download just a regular lead,magnus lead magnet thing and they're,going into my crm i use drip and then,they're going into an email sequence,to book a call with me obviously you,know to help join my ignite program to,help people build their videos their,build their business with video,and so what i'm doing on tik tok is,that's where i'm drawing like driving my,cold traffic here and i'm going to take,you inside of that,right now and then we'll go through um,after i show you the what what it looks,like here i'm gonna take you inside and,give you an exact process that you can,copy and paste and follow for yourself,so that you can start driving leads,through,uh through through tick tock ads so let,me show you what i'm seeing here,so this is my tick tock ads account,and,um i've been that's the ad level let's,go to the campaign level and i've been,doing a lot of testing and i'm still,testing to be honest with you,but here are the numbers that i am,looking at,so,fourteen thousand impressions on this so,far point four five percent clicks your,rate i'm actually seeing that tick tock,click-through rates are much lower than,the sort of regular one percent,benchmark that we're used to looking,used to looking uh used to looking at,used to be looking at what's wrong with,my what's wrong with the way that i'm,speaking,um,and you see it's a 11 cpa that's,relatively normal in business to,business um and i'm i'm not i'm not in,love with it i'd rather it was somewhere,close to seven or eight,but,on facebook you're lucky to get 20 21 22,these days because of the cpm and look,at my cpm number for b2b here,12.51 usd in all of my tests on facebook,and instagram ads over the past month i,have struggled so much to get cpms which,is the cost of advertising costs to,reach a thousand people,under,literally 60 70,and we're talking about 12 on tick tock,and i actually think this could be quite,improved and it probably it's better as,you drill down so this is the camp this,is the uh this is the campaign and i'm,running this to my you guys can get it,for free here if you just if you just,click the link this is what i'm running,a lead magnet to,but um,you can see here i tried a few different,audiences wasn't loving what i was,seeing and some of the other stuff tick,tock is very touchy about things getting,approved or not and what they like to do,is this,they like to half approve things it's,really weird but i don't see any impact,myself i'll let you know if i do see,impact but i'm actually not seeing any,impact from this partial,it's very strange it's very strange,um so you can see for this,um i spent 138 dollars here two dollar,cost per click or 267 cost per click,12 cpms 52 clicks point four six percent,ctr,uh 13 conversions at 10 68 right and,it's actually more than that because,data and ios 14 and all this stuff um,which is a 25 conversion rate et cetera,et cetera i'm also split testing landing,pages on the back end as well because i,always do that usually very different,landing pages and again as i said we're,sort of early on in this,and the numbers are not blowing you away,i'm sure but they are,really good compared to it's similar to,what you used to be able to get running,facebook and instagram ads,um and you just like you can't do that,now,um 2.40 costs so now as we drill down in,the creative so i tested a very short,creative,um,can i pre i can preview here i tested a,very very short creat

million 962 000 and 500,people that's a lot of people and tick,tock was the most popular app downloaded,in 2020 and 2021 and yes while the,majority of people do go to tech talk,for entertainment it's not all fun and,games according to tick tock's what's,next report topics related to investing,cryptocurrency and all things finance,grew 255 last year and there's also an,active and rapidly growing personal,finance community on the app and as for,whether tick-tock ads are worth your,time or not from a business perspective,consider this tick-tock is now the,number one app for driving all right so today we're talking about,three things that i'm seeing working,right now this is what i find works not,by watching a video but by actually,doing so you may hur here differently,but these are the things that i can see,working with results,number one,post more all right right like okay,great bruce that's like what a great,insight that is post more,one of the mistakes i see,businesses make is they post once or,twice a week and then they don't grow on,tick tock and then they're wondering why,they don't grow on tick tock especially,if you're just starting out,tik tok needs to learn,about you,just as much as you need to learn tik,tok how it does that is,it reads the captions it listens to what,you say,on and off the app it watches your video,it gathers information by people who,like who,retain information or who continue to,watch that video over time,and then it shares to more people the,difference between instagram and,facebook and tick tock is tick tock,serves,an audience based on actions in what,they like to watch by what they have,done on the app it knows what you like,by the content you like by how much you,watch certain videos and it serves you,more of that content but it needs to get,to know you and the only way it gets to,know you as a content creator which is,what you are when you're a business,creating content for tick tock is by,volume in the beginning so if you're,posting twice a week bump it up to four,times a week if you're posting four,times a week bump it up to eight times a,week if you are just getting started,with tick tock and i know this is going,to sound a little overwhelming,if you really want to start to see,results from it now is the time first of,all because it's getting pretty it's,getting pretty noisy it's way harder,to grow on tick tock today than it was,a year ago or even two years ago but,it's still possible and it's still way,better organically for growth with way,more opportunity for organic growth than,instagram,or facebook although i may do a podcast,about facebook in the future because,i've been testing out some things,on facebook and i have been getting some,unbelievable organic reach but that's,another podcast for another day,back to my bumping up your volume if you,really want to get the most out of tick,tock,i suggest you post seven to ten times a,week,yes,i know that's going to sound,overwhelming but here's the deal,you can use the same video,now don't download it from tick tock and,go post it to instagram,with the tick tock watermark but you can,use the same video for instagram for,facebook for youtube shorts that you,post on tick tock there's an app called,snap tick you just go,on your desktop,copy the url paste it into snap tick and,it'll download the video for you without,the watermark do that and you can,repurpose that same video you may have,to change the copy up a little bit your,hashtag strategy will be different,on the other platforms but you can,repurpose that video for other platforms,as well so you're not creating,a hundred pieces of content a week and,you should go watch my video why,garyvee's advice is terrible for local,businesses if you are not producing 100,pieces of content for facebook instagram,linkedin youtube podcast every single,day you are leaving the greatest,opportunity in the world on the table,i'm sure you're all aware of who garyvee,is and a lot of people who i talk to say,hey listen i saw garyvee a video and he,told me to put out 100 pieces of content,today something i do every day every day,about,garyvee's advice because he definitely,tells you you should be creating 100,pieces of content a week but i know as a,business owner that is damn near,impossible to do,now if your whole business is just,creating content or you have a team of,five people then that's possible but if,you're a solopreneur or you're a,business owner and you are the only,business owner in that business like the,only person responsible and you don't,have funds for a team of 20 people,creating content then 100 pieces of,content is going to be damn near,impossible but 7 to ten pieces of,content is definitely possible,especially if you get to repurpose it,for other platforms so whatever your,content posting schedule is double it if,it's twice a week do four if it's four,times a week do eight if it's seven,times a week do ten or 12. i'm telling,you right now just by doing that on tick,tock you're going to see a drastic,amount of growth,and what that'll also do is it'll,increase the possibility of one of those,pieces of content going viral or,you know viral in quotation marks by,maybe you get a thousand views per video,the more you do the more likely that one,of those videos will pop off and get 10,times or 15 times the amount of views,than it normally does just by the volume,of content i'm not saying a thousand,pieces a week i'm just saying whatever,you're doing now,double it,the other thing we see working is,live videos now this is getting noisy,and there's certain

Let me show you an example.,Nope, Yup, Nope, Yup,,Nope, Yup, Nope, Yup.,So the idea here is you go ahead and film yourself doing the yup, nope thing.,And then on screen you pop up text where you're saying yes or no to certain,things about your world.,Now of course you're not going to make it all about business.,Make some of it personal too.,But this video is a great way for people just to get to know you a little bit,more. So it's pretty straight forward.,You're just going to film yourself alongside a song that you really like.,And then using the text on screen,,you're going to illustrate what your life was like before your business and what,it's like after. So I found an example, and this is what it looks like.,So the idea with this one is for your followers to get to know you in 15 to 30,seconds, like we're talking really succinct. That's the whole point of TikToks.,So you really need to distill your story down quickly.,So one to two sentences of where you were at before and then the transformation,that you've experienced because of your business, your product, your service,,whatever it is that you're offering. I gave this one a shot.,So here's my example.,The third type of TikTok is called get to know me. However,,this one's a little bit more like answering a common misconception that people,have about you or your business.,So if there's a question you get all the time or there's a common belief that,people have about you that's wrong.,This type of TikTok is perfect for you to set the record straight.,Here is an example of the get to know me TikTok.,And of course I've made my own version of this TikTok.,So go ahead and watch this and get to know me.,The fourth type of TikTok for your business is jumping on what's already,trending. You might not know this,,but there is a discover page on TikTok similar to the explore page on Instagram.,So I recommend pulling up your TikTok,,hitting the discover tab and check out what hashtags are trending.,So right away I see something called maple syrup day could be really relevant,for me as a Canadian.,There's also a hashtag called morph and that's a trending challenge.,So it looks like people are blending their pictures together to show their,transformation. There's another one called holiday covers, never zero.,Not sure what that is, but let's look into any one of them.,Let's check out morph,,and I can see that this hashtag has 42 million views.,So let's check out this Ariana morph and just to get an idea,,So it's pretty straight forward.,There's obviously a feature built into TikTok called morph that allows you to,mesh your photos together. So this may not really be an explicit,,you know, invitation to your business,,but it just might show your evolution as a human.,Maybe you can throw a few business-y pictures in there,,but really the point of this one is just to jump on the trending hashtags so,that maybe your TikTok goes viral. I, of course,,jumped on one of these trending hashtags, and this is the TikTok I made.,The fifth TikTok you can make for your business is just a fun dance video,because let's be honest,,TikTok is heavily about the entertainment and if you're really going to be a,TikTok user, you should be creating TikToks that are just for fun.,They can't all be about business.,So if you're ever looking for dance inspo just head to the home on your TikTok,app and you're going to see so many trending dance videos and hopefully one of,them inspires you.,I've seen so many from a solo dance performance to a partner dance performance.,Some of mine are called ride it and coincidance and I'm going to show you an,example of that one right now.,And of course I can't finish this video about TikTok without creating my own,funny dance video on TikTok. may need to go  and fix that initially just download the chrome  ,extension and you can see that our tick tock pixel  is set up here shopify set it up for us and it  ,should be firing this is a page view because we're  on a page when you add a product to cart it should  ,fire the add to cart pixel or if someone purchases  you can test a purchase and it will also fire that  ,pixel in the exact provider and,i never had any issues so,even if you have to buy a paid version,of nordvpn i think it will cost you,under 10 dollars per month and you only,really need it once you don't need to,keep to,ticktalk.com forward slash business it,will redirect you to us,page,but you have to have vpn,active and then basically click click on,create new account so this will take you,to a form that you need to fill out with,your details,and again make sure that you have an,email address that have not been used,with tick tock yet,okay so we're on the sign up page so,what you need to do is to just use your,email 123,gmail.com and then from here obviously,choose your password,and then click on send code and this,will send a verification code to this,email address that you have provided so,let's
