tick off you may be confused,because it is different than facebook,right with facebook,you're linking a page a facebook page to,an ad account so technically every ad,you're running is linked to that page,right and you can use the existing post,ids to maximize social proof it's not,the case with tick tock out of the gate,with tick tock you can basically just,put whatever page title and page icon,that has matched the landing page but,you can whatever name you want that's,related to that in the title every ad is,basically created at the ad level right,meaning like all the the personalization,the branding element is at the ad level,whereas spark ads is more like a,traditional facebook existing id post,where you can actually link to it it's a,real post it's not a tick tock it gets,social proof people can click from that,ad and you know view everything to your,page so in this video i'm going to talk,about the difference between the two,we're going to dive into the ad account,over here,i'm going to show you kind of the,examples between the two things because,there are some pros and cons to both,listen before we get into that we use,both right so i don't think there's a,definitive best type of ad to run on,tick tock because they're contextual,depends on what your goals are and,what's most important to you right,you're looking to build their brand,looking to build a following in addition,to making money or you're just looking,direct response your affiliate marketer,or something like that depending on,those contexts you may find one of these,more valuable on the other so we're,going to do we're going to come over,here,and hit the the,share screen real quick,and we're going to take a look at here,so what you'll see when you're inside,your ad accounts,is right here where it says identity you,can it's automatically on custom,identity so custom identity gives you,the option to basically set up the,branding you know sort of the profile,everything right here um so you can,easily switch switch it on switch,between it you also reset out every time,um if you're brand new to tick tock you,might not see that yet in which case,you'll have to basically set the uh page,name the profile icon all of that here,before you can have the custom identity,created so again what's happening here,everything else is pretty much the same,on this ad unit you know some weird,things in our account because we're beta,testing search so some things you see in,here are not going to be in your account,but um they will be eventually,so with this type of ad if i go the website if they,click click funnels here it's gonna take,your website right nothing here is gonna,take them to clickfunnels ticktock,profile okay what that means is you're,almost universally this has been the,case for pretty much every ad we've run,custom identity ads will have higher,click-through rates outbound clicker,rates than spark ads i have seen very,very very very very few exceptions to,that mainly because there's just more,outbound click points right with with,the spark add you basically have the,call to action button that's the only,outbound link with smart guides if they,click here or they click here,it is going to take them to click,funnels actual profile or your actual,tick tock profile where they can follow,you where they can view other videos,right,but again custom identity you have,multiple exit points to your website,spark ads you have one,now again we talk about pros and cons,you might get more clicks with custom,identity but again they might not be all,high quality clicks because you may,people clicking your icon or your name,because they want to learn more about,the business but they're taken to the,website so they might just bounce off,the website right um that's a that's a,negative for custom identity also,the comments the engagement on this post,are not translated to other,ads using the same creative right so if,you have 10 other ad groups running the,exact same creative there are 10 totally,unique ads they don't maximize social,proof i think it's consolidated whereas,spark ads,and breathing is centralized to an,existing post id so if i have 10 ad,groups running the same spark ad all the,comments across all ten of those ad,groups come back to one right so that's,great especially if you get a lot of,great comments a lot of engagement it's,obviously going to be beneficial to you,w

where,you have a base control testing strategy,like this one right here where you have,five ad groups three of them with,interest two no targeting and how you,can develop your strategy over time,especially when you're doing a lot of,tests is you can introduce a little bit,of chaos with having an independent,variable so for us when we're doing,split testing we always will do one,variable changing from our original,control group so in this instance with,this top column we did us with australia,for the targeting instead of us and,canada and then what we would do is,measure the results these are all fake,numbers by the way we would do this over,and over and over again over the course,of multiple months and this is how i,actually came up with this exact,strategy this isn't just me oh well i,think this is what's gonna work no this,is proven how you can actually develop a,strategy that works over time and you,can also do other split tests like doing,a combination of number one number five,so that would be us with australia while,also doing a cbo on to mark all of the,data because at the end of the day,you're gonna be biased and if you don't,have the numbers guiding your decisions,you're not gonna make good decisions,when it comes to media buying because,it's all based on numbers and not your,emotions so this has helped us scale,brands like this one right here have to do is go to the Shopify App,Store look up Tick Tock and then once,you install it it will show up as a,sales channel so you click on sales,Channel then Tick Tock and really when,you're going to the setup process it's,pretty simple it asks you to create a,new business so you either log into an,account that you already made if you,already have an agency account which if,you are interested in getting an agency,account where you can Target every,single country in the world compared to,a ad account that might just be specific,for your country that you're from then,you can actually click the link down,below and get an agency account for,three percent of your ad spend I mean as,you can see Daddy Ethan's been reaching,in the cookie jar for these ad accounts,I mean I got like one two maybe 130 of,them so really it's a great deal,especially three percent ad spend most,agency accounts will cost you at least a,thousand to two thousand dollars so if,you're interested link is in the bio but,after you get your agency account set up,or your normal account if you're a noob,then you can just log into it pretty,simply now for me since I'm already,logged into Tick Tock ads there is a,chance it'll just ask you to connect,which is they're going to be the best,option for you now after this it's going,to ask you to connect an ad account to,this Shopify store so you can go with,two different options a you create the,new ads manager or if you already have,that ads manager ready to go then you,just connect the one that is your agency,account so for me I might just do this,Alto one let's say that's the agency,account that I have made so we just,click connect pretty easy to go and the,next thing would be your pixel you,always want to do maximum get the,broadest audience going on and then for,Pixel I usually like to create a new,pixel when I start a new business so,just like that we will click on confirm,and honestly even having a pixel in your,store there's a lot of contention around,that so we'll get into that a little bit,later but that is how you set things up,in Shopify now the next thing I would,recommend setting up before you launch,your campaign is having those columns,you need to have your numbers ready to,go on what you're going to analyze now,you don't need to have all these,analytics this is just personally what I,like to have so first off I always like,to do what's my total cost how much am I,spending then my CPM that's just really,a good gauge for me to see okay are we,spending in the right places because if,my CPM is above a certain number,typically above 10 to 20 dollars I,usually think all right I need to go,broader here maybe try out some,different locations maybe that could be,what it is I'm just doing United States,and my cpm's 30. so let me try the big,four countries and see if that lowers,next things are pretty self-explanatory,so how many clicks am I getting now the,total view content the reason why I have,this I know most people don't is because,I can see from the amount of people that,clicked let's say a hundred people click,on my ad I want to make sure I'm as,close as 100 view contents as possible,to the clicks because I know if a,hundred people click my ad and let's say,only 80 of them actually view content,which is viewing your product page I,know I have a speed score issues so it's,a nice little gut check to see all right,is my website converting well so that's,personally why I like to have it you may,not have it it's up to you now the next,thing CPC pretty self-explanatory CPC,CTR these are both for my ads so for CPC,I tend to aim on 50 cents or lower,honestly because cpms are a little bit,higher now on Tick Tock I would say,anything under a dollar is pretty decent,but the most important thing is always,are your ads profitable so

entertaining  ,nature of tick tock ads so it might be perfect  for your brand this video is perfect for beginners  ,we're not going to skip any steps but i'm also  going to go into some advanced things around  ,content because that is so important to make sure  that you make tick tock ads work the first step  ,you're going to want to do is set up your shopify  store if you haven't set up your sure that we set up  ,tiktok properly so the pixel is firing once you're  in shopify the best way to go is go into apps and  ,just write in tiktok simply download the official  tiktok app and click add sales channel this is the  ,exact same as facebook nowadays this will bring  up this little tick tock section down on the left  ,hand store of your shopify store if you don't have  shopify still carry on watching we're going to get  ,into the nitty gritty in a second once this is set  up we can click this section here setting up the  ,pixel the next step you can see that it's saying  connect tick tock for business this is where you  ,need a new tick tock account already have a tick  tock business account you can just click connect  ,but today we're gonna have to create a brand new  one so i'm just gonna click create new at the top  ,enter my email address get the verification code  sent into the verification code here agree to  ,terms and conditions and just click sign up you  can click connect down the bottom right and that's  ,now created an ads manager business manager under  that email we can click create new ad account and  ,we can select the country and the currency that we  want to be built in this is generally the region  ,that you want to be targeting change the business  name to something a little bit simpler click sign  ,up and connect you'll come to this data sharing  section which we've touched on a few times in my  ,previous episodes just click enhanced or maximum  providing you've got the terms and conditions set  ,up for something and then click confirm maximum  is obviously preferred this is how shopify shares  ,data with ticktock this is referred to as capi  which is a partnership between shopify and the  ,advertising platform click set up enter your final  details make sure you connect automatic payment  ,click confirm and you should be ready to go now  to create tick-tock ads we're actually going to  ,have to go back to the tick-tock ads manager so  we can go ads.tichtalk.com you can see that our  ,ad account has already been created to make sure  that we do have the pixel set up properly what i  ,do recommend is going to your website and just  like facebook there's something called tic toc  ,pixel helper and it's a chrome extension that you  can download and check if your pixel is firing  ,on your website if it's not you may need to go  and fix that initially just download the chrome  ,extension and you can see that our tick tock pixel  is set up here shopify set it up for us and it  ,should be firing this is a page view because we're  on a page when you add a product to cart it should  ,fire the add to cart pixel or if someone purchases  you can test a purchase and it will also fire that  ,pixel in the exact right way so now we're in  the tiktok ads account we can go ahead and  ,create our first campaign campaign structures  are really important to talk about it's what  ,separates good advertisers from bad advertisers  that alongside really effective marketing content  ,the basic structure is you have a campaign which  is what objective you are striving for if you've  ,got something like a real with clients all,over the world,but you're pretty much if you're running,ads for yourself you'll have only one,account which is enough so here you'll,see a pretty similar kind of dashboard,as you would see on facebook ads if you,are running it or if you run it on that,platform so here on you can,see like your members you can add people,if you have a team where if you have,other people that are running ads for,your business then you could click here,on members and then invite someone by,adding their email giving them access to,your tick tock ad account your ticket,page and you know all the other aspects,that they will pretty much need in order,to run ads for your business,now once i covered a little bit about,the ad account this is something that i,want to talk next so the second step so,the first step we said that we need to,create a business account the second,step is to create the ad account so as,we would you know have a physical system,on facebook where we have our business,page then under the business page we,create our ad account it is kind of the,same thing with tick tock so we want to,create our ad account to do that under,the assets we want to click on the,advertiser accounts so here i already,have an account but in your case if it's,a completely new ad account you'll have,to create a new one so you'll click on,this add advertiser account like it's than snap,and twitter combined,they're about one point behind youtube,in in the global percent of share of,digital marketing spend so about like,2.8 percent youtube is around 3.5,percent they'll surpass that next year,in perspective facebook google is like,28 24 each so they're still not close,there but,it's growing right,so the whole point of today's today's,talk is really about creative and i had,this whole long clock and i could spend,days with you guys talking about tick,tock it's a massive platform right it's,like trying to teach somebody facebook,ads from day one it's it's whenever lead generation and,you can check that out right here,but i realize that most advertisers,probably utilize conversion objective,campaigns on almost all social ads,platforms so in this video i want to do,the same thing as we did with that lead,generation video and walk you start to,finish through creating and launching a,tick tock conversion focused campaign,as i mentioned in the intro we have a,number of videos already put together,for the tick tock ads platform and in an,effort to keep this video from being,three hours long anytime i come across a,portion of the campaign setup that log,into tiktok it's going to drop you on,this dashboards page so to create a new,campaign we need to come over to the,campaigns tab now we're in a section,that looks a bit more like an ad manager,rather than just a dashboard overview so,let's come down here and click create,campaign more often than not the first,thing tiktok is going to ask you is if,you want to use simplified mode or,custom mode simplified is an experience,that's taken a few pieces away that is,designed to help you spend less time,creating and managing campaigns and,getting back to running your business,now while this sounds really useful and,can be helpful to people who are just,genuinely overwhelmed with the number of,different things you can do through,online advertising this is the paid,media pros special ad,categories this is going to be extremely,similar to facebook if you're,advertising in anything in the housing,employment or credit space you need to,declare that at the beginning or risk,having your ad be rejected and have your,ad account put in limbo because you did,not declare those these are highly,regulated areas and need to follow all,special ad category policies the next,setting is if you want to create a split,test we do not want to do that here but,at some point in the future we will,likely put together a video on how to,create a tick tock ad split test but for,now suffice to say they do have that,capability on the tick tock platform the,last two settings are going to have to,do with your budget first is you can,turn on campaign budget optimization,which effectively means that you're,going to be able to share your budget,across the different ad groups within,your campaign so if you turn this on you,can only choose from a daily budget and,that budget has to be at least fifty,dollars so there is a minimum on a,campaign level budget utilizing campaign,budget optimization in tick tock the bid,strategy is going to be set for lowest,cost and you cannot change this and,you'll notice that all ad groups under,the current campaign must all use the,same optimization goal which we'll get,to when we get into the ad group level,setup for now i'm going to turn this off,so it'll bring back the campaign budget,so you can click on the set campaign,budget which basically means that on a,daily basis or a lifetime basis you only,want it to spend a certain
