In this video, we will walk through how to,accept eCheck payments in Clio Manage, including,what the payment experience is like for,your clients and how they can save their payment,details for future use.,eChecks are included with Clio Payments and are,a faster, more secure and more reliable way,of receiving payments from your clients,than the traditional check writing process.,With just a few clicks, your clients can securely,access funds directly from their bank account,through our integration with Plaid, and make an,instant payment towards a bill, a payment plan,,or a trust request.,As mentioned eCheck's are processed through,Plaid, which is a trusted service use to,securely authenticate bank account information.,Plaid allows clients to verify their account so,they can make payments directly from their,bank accounts without entering routing numbers,,providing a void check or signing a preauthorized,debit agreement.,Before we begin, you'll need to make,sure that you have set up Clio Payments.,If you haven't set this up yet, click,the link in the video or in the description,below to learn how.,Once you have Clio Payments set up, there,are several ways to accept eCheck payments,from your clients, whether that's by sharing,a bill electronically to your client or having,your client process a payment through your,secure payment link.,. When sharing a bill electronically through,Clio to your client's email, your clients will,receive their bill with a secure payment link in,the body of the email.,In the secure payment screen,,your clients will have the option to,select eCheck as their payment method.,Once their bank account details are entered,and verified, your client will be able,to see their bank account balances before,confirming their payment amount and completing,the transaction.,This reduces the risk of incurring NSF fees,or insufficient funds.,At the end of this process, your clients,will have the option to securely save their,details for future use.,Allowing you to process payments on their,behalf going forward.,To do this select eCheck from the source dropdown,menu when recording a payment towards a bill.,It should be noted that neither Clio, nor you,or anyone else will have access to your client's,bank account details.,You will only have the ability to process future,payments through the Plaid integration on,your client's behalf.,Any time an eCheck payment is processed,,your client will receive an email confirmation,with these details.,Each eCheck transaction fee is a flat rate of,$2 and to help your firm with bank reconciliation,,be sure to review the Clio Payments deposit,report video, which can be found by either,clicking the link in the video or in the,description below.,For more information on eChecks or anything else,Clio related, please visit support.clio.com.
