the,clients why it's important to have a,full warm-up phase dedicated to warming,up the tick tock pixel because look,reality is most of people going on Tick,Tock right now are not using Tick Tock,as a first platform they've been in the,industry for quite a while and they've,advertised on Facebook and they kind of,Forgotten what time what it was to get,started with Facebook back then so in,today's short and sweet video I want to,talk about why the tick tock pixel,warm-up phase is very important and how,do you want to structure this phase,before you really start running your,Tick Tock ads my name is Justin and I'm,the founder of voicemail media and,e-commerce marketing agency specializing,in elevating thriving Brands by,simplifying e-commerce growth,foreign,so to get straight into it I'll do an,analogy that I I really love telling our,clients so when you first start riding a,bike when you're very young right if you,threw a kid on a bike without any,training wheels there's a very small,chance that they might succeed but,honestly the odds are against them,they're most likely going to be failing,because they have no practice about how,to grasp The Handlebar how to really,pedal the right way how to balance their,weights Etc if we compare that to a,pixel when you first start running ads,the pixel aka the ad platform does not,have any data whatsoever about your,audience so they don't really know who,to go after they don't really know what,this person looks like what they like,what they don't like so they try and,kind of pull everybody around and,chances are they'll fail so the reason,we're doing a pixel warm-up phase is,that when you first make a new pixel,this pixel is empty does not have any,data I've made a video in the past where,what might happen if you start running,ads off the bat and try and go for,purchases as a conversions campaign the,usual outcome of that is that your ads,simply won't spend it so Tick Tock won't,spend anything on your ads because it's,simply too much confused to know what,you want the algorithm to do with this,ad spend which is why you want to start,with a pixel warm-up phase to really,educate the platform about who are your,buyers where do they fit within the,algorithm again where can the algorithm,best find them and you do so by a,gradual warm-up phase so I'm gonna put,on screen right now a screenshot of the,structure we've been following in order,to warm up our clients pixels correctly,so this whole warm-up phase would take,depending on your budget anywhere from,two to four weeks to really get your,pixel warm enough for you to start,running purchases conversions campaign,so for the first week again let's keep,in mind tick docks CBO minimum daily,budget is 50 so you'll want to start,running ads for traffic or video views,and in do so for about seven days just,the first to tell the algorithm hey,those are the type of people that are,most interested in our video type,doesn't mean they're taking action just,means they're showing some signs of,Interest by either liking commenting or,interacting with your videos once this,is done then you switch to the second,phase of your warm-up phase so for the,following seven days which you actually,start for the first time with a,conversion campaign so you'll usually go,with a bit more of a top of funnel event,so that could be add to cart as an,example and your only goal at this stage,is to get 50 conversions within seven,days so for you to get 50 at the carts,within seven days again depending on,your products aov means that you need to,spend a certain level on the platform,for most people the daily minimum budget,of fifty dollars is gonna be enough to,achieve these 50 conversions assuming,you have a good conversion rate on the,website so once you're done and once you,actually have these 50 attributed,conversions then it's a bit of a,conflicting advice online and it'll,depend on the clients honestly that,we're doing this with but either you can,directly switch to a purchase event,right there and already essentially,starts running some conversions,campaigns for purchases or you could go,one step further and actually start,optimizing for initiate checkout for,another seven days so you extend your,warm-up phase by another week and then,once you get 50 initiated checkouts,within that week then you get to 50,purchases I'm actually going to,recommend for the most of you to,actually do this phase where you're,going with traffic or video view,campaigns for seven days then week two,you're going without the cards week,three you're doing initiate checkout in,week four you're actually starting with,your purchases campaigns and again the,sole reason is think of this like a,waterfall or taking somebody and have to do is go to the Shopify App,Store look up Tick Tock and then once,you install it it will show up as a,sales channel so you click on sales,Channel then Tick Tock and really when,you're going to the setup process it's,pretty simple it asks you to create a,new business so you either log into an,account that you already made if you,already have an agency account which if,you are interested in getting an agency,account where you can Target every,single country in the world compared to,a ad account that might just be specific,for your country that you're from then,you can actually click the link down,below and get an agency account for,three percent of your ad spend I mean as,you can see Daddy Ethan's been reaching,in the cookie jar for these ad accounts,I mean I got like one two maybe 130 of,them so really it's a great deal,especially three percent ad spend most,agency accounts will cost you at least a,thousand to two thousand dollars so if,you're interested link is in the bio but,after you get your agency account set up,or your normal account if you're a noob,then you can just log into it pretty,simply now for me since I'm already,logged into Tick Tock ads there is a,chance it'll just ask you to connect,which is they're going to be the best,option for you now after this it's going,to ask you to connect an ad account to,this Shopify store so you can go with,two different options a you create the,new ads manager or if you already have,that ads manager ready to go then you,just connect the one that is your agency,account so for me I might just do this,Alto one let's say that's the agency,account that I have made so we just,click connect pretty easy to go and the,next thing would be your pixel you,always want to do maximum get the,broadest audience going on and then for,Pixel I usually like to create a new,pixel when I start a new business so,just like that we will click on confirm,and honestly even having a pixel in your,store there's a lot of contention around,that so we'll get into that a little bit,later but that is how you set things up,in Shopify now the next thing I would,recommend setting up before you launch,your campaign is having those columns,you need to have your numbers ready to,go on what you're going to analyze now,you don't need to have all these,analytics this is just personally what I,like to have so first off I always like,to do what's my total cost how much am I,spending then my CPM that's just really,a good gauge for me to see okay are we,spending in the right places because if,my CPM is above a certain number,typically above 10 to 20 dollars I,usually think all right I need to go,broader here maybe try out some,different locations maybe that could be,what it is I'm just doing United States,and my cpm's 30. so let me try the big,four countries and see if that lowers,next things are pretty self-explanatory,so how many clicks am I getting now the,total view content the reason why I have,this I know most people don't is because,I can see from the amount of people that,clicked let's say a hundred people click,on my ad I want to make sure I'm as,close as 100 view contents as possible,to the clicks because I know if a,hundred people click my ad and let's say,only 80 of them actually view content,which is viewing your product page I,know I have a speed score issues so it's,a nice little gut check to see all right,is my website converting well so that's,personally why I like to have it you may,not have it it's up to you now the next,thing CPC pretty self-explanatory CPC,CTR these are both for my ads so for CPC,I tend to aim on 50 cents or lower,honestly because cpms are a little bit,higher now on Tick Tock I would say,anything under a dollar is pretty decent,but the most important you just set up the perfect campaign you,put your audiences together you finally,launched your ads and nothing,your ads aren't spending on tick tock,what is the problem how do you fix it,and i'm going to cover that exact,solution,what's up y'all it's chase chapel here,and it's your favorite digital marketer,where we cover tick tock ads and,facebook ad strategies and i'm going to,be showing you today exactly how you can,get your tick tock ads to start,delivering a lot of you might think that,you set up the perfect campaign did all,of the right steps but come to find out,your ads just aren't spending and you,want them to deliver so that way you can,start to get sales and i keep getting,this question through instagram and my,dms at real chase chapel where y'all are,asking why your ads aren't delivering so,without further ado let's go ahead and,jump into it alright so what you're,going to do is you're going to jump into,your tick tock ads manager and we're,going to go through and create a,campaign so that way we can make sure,you did all of the correct steps so that,way your ads can start delivering and,we're going to troubleshoot why your ads,might not be delivering so that way you,can get them to deliver and achieve,sales first thing we're going to do is,hit the create button and this is going,to create a campaign,and we're going to go ahead and,select a conversions you have one,set up because you're going to need to,make sure it's active if you have an,inactive pixel with no recent activity,that is one reason your ads might not be,delivering so first you want to make,sure you have an active,tick-tock pixel and if you use shopify,you'll use the shopify integration to,integrate that if you use another,website see if tic-tac actually allows,you to integrate so that way you can,make sure your pixel is active once your,pixel is active you want to make sure,you choose an optimization event it's,important to choose an optimization,event because this is what you're going,to be optimizing for to get results so,if you want purchases then you're going,to want to optimize for purchases now an,important play here is,sometimes people are going to recommend,you to if you're not getting delivery,they might say well rather than just,optimizing for complete payment which is,purchases you should optimize for add to,cart because you can get those events i,wouldn't follow that advice that is just,so not true if you want purchases you,need to optimize for purchases the last,thing you need is to be optimizing for,add to carts and getting that exact,thing and not actually seeing sales from,your results just because your ads might,deliver with add to carts doesn't mean,you should be doing so because you can,guarantee your ads will deliver by,choosing complete payment if you know,exactly how to create a tick tock ad,that actually converts and that will,allow you to get delivery so if you,truly do want purchases make sure to,choose complete payment because you,don't want to choose any other event if,you're already going to be optimizing,for sales,the next thing is you're going to select,the placements,and you're going to want to make sure,you're only delivering to tick-tock,because the video we're going to be,using is for the tick-tock placement,we're going to be running ads in the us,in this case so we want to make sure,we're delivering there and then we're,going to go ahead and you know leave,these two other settings on,and we're going to go ahead and leave,our targeting to 18 plus for this,specific,product service we're promoting and then,the main thing is your ads might not be,delivering due to audience size if your,audiences are way too small you might,not be seeing delivery,you want to make sure you with that,and get plenty of delivery that way so,you're going to want to make sure that,you don't over narrow your audience so,usually it's best just to accept the you,know initial recommendations that tic,toc gives you so that way you can get,the best results the system is getting,better by the day so highly recommend to,you know go with the actual suggestion,that they have and this is going to give,you an audience size that will allow you,to get delivery so that will rule out,not only the pixel but the audience as,well the next thing is your daily budget,so you're going to set a 20 daily to be about copy Tick Tock has,recently increased the limit of,characters that you can have in your,copy from 300 all the way up to 2200 so,you now have the chance to use this,space just like you would use it on,other platforms like Facebook and,Instagram where copywriting has always,been key parts of direct to Consumer ads,so with that said within the rec,response marketing copywriting is super,important obviously on Tick Tock people,are less inclined to read your copies so,it's still very focused on the creative,side of things but now that you have,more space within your copy you can,start playing with that a lot more it,used to be more of a one sentence one to,two sentences Max what's in your copy,which truthfully it's pretty much a call,to action right that's all you could put,in the past within the copy whereas now,you have a lot more space to details,benefits maybe features about your,products p features the benefits and,play with your good copywriting skills,to help people convert from your ads the,fourth tip is to make sure that you use,your utms right would you be using a,attribution software like triple well,where they give you what utms to put on,Tick Tock which are key in order to,track an attribute back your ads,performances on Triple well or if you're,not using triple One You're simply doing,the old way of attributing with Google,analytics yet again to set them properly,and to learn more about the different,variables that can be used on tiktok the,fifth tip that I have is you need to go,for basic objectives First Look for the,first seven days you need to run,strictly traffic or video view campaigns,that's a no-brainer also share the video,on that recently about warming up your,Tick Tock pixel but let's say you had a,pixel already installed you have,somewhat some form of data on your pixel,then you can get started with add to,cart from the start now you're also,going to be able to know whether or not,your creatives work as soon as you get,into add to card campaigns because,honestly traffic campaigns the behaviors,are much different than a conversions,campaign so as soon as you start running,conversions campaign you'll be able to,tell a lot better whether or not your,creatives work as an example we started,running at the car campaigns for one of,our clients and it got I think two at,the carts within the first two days,which is absolutely horrible so,creatives went from an almost two,percent click-through rates on the,traffic campaigns that we did within the,first seven days dropped all the way,down to 0.3 percent within conversions,campaign so absolutely horrible creative,performance right there or is on the,opposite side of things we had one of,our clients who basically as soon as we,started running the add to card,campaigns they literally started getting,conversions without even optimizing for,purchases we were getting above 2x,roasts per day from running after card,campaigns and those were pretty good,news for that client they were getting,

day and it's the same thing,at the moment of recording this video in,both canadian and us dollars they're,both fifty dollars actually and it's,twenty dollar minimum daily budget if,you are having an so basically you,do that for about seven days um,basically it i'm honestly gonna depend,on the budget like if you go on the low,end if you go for 20 uh dollar daily,budget with you may have to spend a,little more so i'd say if you can spare,the 50 or basically the 350 dollar for a,full week of ad spend then do it that'll,speed things up so once that's been done,your pixel is seasoned and then you can,actually start your first conversion,campaign because if you started that,before that you'll probably be seen with,other videos on the channel that your,ads might not spend at all this is,basically what ends up happening if you,start with a conversion campaign on tick,tock without having season the pixel,first,so then you have a conversion campaign,right here the budgets it's the same,thing as a traffic or you know video,view it's 50 minimum daily budget or a,20 minimum daily budget with so you,have that campaign you basically leave,it still abroad the same structure,basically same exact thing,just with an objective of conversions,this does not mean you should go with,purchases this only means you need to go,with a very top of funnel event because,your goal,in that phase is you need to break above,the 50 conversions per 7 day window that,is your absolute goal during that period,you need to break above 50 conversions,within seven days or else you can't,really go through the next phase you'll,have to play with the budget or optimize,your ads to break through that 50,conversion window so that's what i'm,saying usually going with an add to cart,event will help you get those 50,conversions a little faster so if you,didn't get those 50 conversions i'd say,basically switch to a purchase,conversion event if you did not keep,your ads running so then you switch to a,purchase conversion event and then this,is where things get interesting you,basically keep the same campaign the,same creatives that you were running and,essentially you split that up into three,ad sets so again that's why it gets,pretty interesting because at that point,you also have a little bit more control,like in your first other campaign that i,just showed it was either for 20 a,day but there's basically only one ad,set or it was cbo in that case here you,start with three ad sets so you have,essentially your broad you have interest,and you have hashtag and then from there,you have the same four ads as you,initially had um i'm saying seven days,again right here just because what ends,up happening and that's part of your,optimizing process is just that you want,to give it about seven days before you,can make any informed decisions with,your ads so tick tock themselves,actually recommend they basically talk,about their attribution window which,they basically say that from the time a,click happens to a conversion basically,takes about seven days so that's why i'm,saying if you are to start these,campaigns for the first time essentially,give them about seven days before you,can really take any form of decisions as,to are they working or not and something,to note right here is you've probably,seen at that point you are already three,weeks to a month in with tick tock
