worldwide  ,with 90 of users using the app multiple times per  day so we can get ourselves in front of our ideal  ,customer multiple times a day on average now as  of january 2021 tick tock raked in 128 million in  ,user spending marking an increase of 380 from its  january 2020 revenue so it's growing year on year  ,almost 4x in user revenue now take top ranks  as the second biggest app in consumer spend  ,above youtube disney plus and netflix this  is probably the uh the biggest stat on this  ,screen ranking above youtube and netflix in  consumer spend is absolutely ridiculous so  ,it's a monumental opportunity for people and  businesses to sell their products on the platform  ,how many times have you spoken to someone they've  said ah i found that product on tick tock it's  ,happening a lot these days so let's jump on to how  you can actually make the most of that so this is  ,the tick tock ad structure so at the top we have  tick tocks ad manager then we have ad campaigns  ,we have ad groups we have ad creative and then  landing pages to break these down one by one tick  ,doc ads manager is where you manage your ticktock  advertising account similar to the facebook  ,ad manager now a ad campaign is the foundation  of your ad so we're setting up our advertising  ,objectives and formats we then have ad group which  is target audiences ad placements budget and the  ,bidding then we have the ad creative which is  the text and the video that will appear on our  ,apps what we're physically seeing then finally our  landing page and this is the destination url that  ,we are driving our potential customers too this  is the place where they will actually buy our  ,products or service so when you actually have your  tick tock ad account up and running this is kind  ,of what the format will look like we have our ad  manager at the top we have campaigns beneath that  ,then inside an ad campaign we would have multiple  ad groups so we'll be testing out multiple  ,audiences and inside those audiences we may even  be testing out multiple different ad creatives  ,as well so what are the actual creative the the  creative formats that we can use on tick tock well  ,we have top view on the left hand side here which  is like a full-size video which shows up when we  ,launch the app we don't have brand tank takeover  now these are the most expensive tic toc ads and  ,very large brands use these and again these come  up right at the start of launching the app and it  ,takes over the entire screen then have in feed ads  this is what we're going to be going through today  ,and what most businesses are actually using  to generate the most revenue from tick tock  ,we have branded hashtag challenges so if we  want to launch a challenge on the platform had a lot of different,companies reach out to me offering to,pay me money to make tick tocks for them,i'm going to show you how to get your,account to the same place there's five,things you need to focus on the first of,which is discoverability there are a lot,of creators on tiktok you need to make,sure that these companies find you the,second thing you need to focus on is a,means of communication once they find,you how are they going to reach you how,are they going to talk to you to make,sure that they can start this dialogue,the third thing is pricing you need to,know what your rates are before they,ever reach out i'm going to show you how,to figure out what you should be,charging for these various types of,posts the fourth thing is vetting you,need to make sure that this sponsorship,works for you you're going to be the,face of this if this goes south it's not,going to be the company that gets hurt,it's going to be your account tick tock,likes to ban people don't get banned the,fifth thing is actually posting it,making sure that once you post the video,you actually get paid and everybody,walks away happy,yes let's get into it the first thing,that we're going to go over is,discoverability this is making sure that,your account is the one that shows up,when a sponsor goes looking and i,imagine that this is where most of you,are having your problems because there,is a very big gap between making tick,tocks for fun and actually trying to,monetize it so i'm going gonna tell you,about how i got my first sponsor and,just a spoiler alert is hashtags,hashtags are the secret,i made a video when i have like 30 000,subscribers 30 000 followers on tiktok,just talking about one of my,jumpstarters i use the hashtag,jumpstarter okay like a couple weeks,later a company reaches out to me they,make jump starters they went on,tick-tock they used a little search bar,right there and they searched for their,own product they wanted to find other,people that were talking about their,thing they saw the hashtag jumpstarter,and came across my video that is how a,lot of my sponsors have actually found,me because i use the hashtags that are,relevant to their industry a lot of,people on tiktok they will use hashtags,to try to get onto the forum page,they'll use like fyp,for you page i don't think you should do,that i think you should use your,hashtags to try to find sponsors if you,are talking about makeup use hashtag,makeup you're talking about a particular,brand use that brand your hashtags,aren't necessarily meant to make you go,viral they're meant to make you be able,to be found by sponsors so you can get,money in the future there are platforms,out there that are designed to help,influencers and brands be able to meet,and be able to help like coordinate,sponsorships i've had zero luck with any,of them there's like four and there's,there's other ones i've had zero luck,actually meeting brand sponsors that,want to pay this leads us to our next,bullet point communication,once a sponsor has found your tick tock,and they decide that they possibly want,to work with you they need a way to be,able to send you a message to be able to,start the dialogue there's two ways to,do that natively in tik-tok the first of,which is with your inbox they will go on,their tic-tac account and they will send,your tick tock account a message,you need to be aware that most tick,tockers can't even do that a lot of,people they have their account set up so,that they can only receive messages from,people that they follow that means that,if you're not following the brand that,wants to give you money you won't be,able to talk to them you need to have,your account settings set so you can,receive messages from everyone,most of the messages you get will just,be stupid people sharing stupid videos,with you but every now and again you'll,get a potential sponsor and you don't,want to miss out on that so open your,inbox to everybody,the second way that brand sponsors can,reach out to you through tick tock is,with something called the creator,marketplace this they released this,about a year ago and this is where,brands can actually go up and talk to,creators directly they set their terms,you can accept or reject it and then,tick tock sort of facilitates the actual,sponsorship,this is only available to accounts with,over 100 000 subscribers though so,another way that brands can reach out to,you is through your email you will see a,lot of creators they will have their,business email listed in their bio this,is because it's what's,going on everybody tanner here with,another video i hope you're all having,an amazing and productive day so far in,this video i'm going to be taking you,step by step on exactly how to set up,tick tock ads how to get up to 2 300 and,free ad spend and what i wish i knew,before i actually started running ads on,this platform and if you're looking to,get into e-commerce or at least expand,on what you're already doing during this,holiday season i highly highly suggest,you apply for my advertising agency,where we find products for you and we,test and scale them on facebook all you,got to do is click the top link in the,description and i'll see you there now i,know a lot of people have tended to stay,away from the tick tock ad platform,since it became public but i would,highly suggest you not do that because,it's an untapped platform you know maybe,you're thinking,my products not going to work on here my,product's too expensive or i just don't,want to learn a new platform but the,reality of it is that there's a lot of,money to be made on this platform and,even if you think you may be confused by,the ads platform itself i'm going to,show you how to navigate through it what,everything means and how to actually get,your first ads up i promise you it's not,as complicated as it seems but i want,you to know that you shouldn't be,opposed to not running tick tock ads,just because of the product that you're,selling it doesn't matter if it's for,older people if it's something higher,ticket it really does not matter there's,so many people on tick tock and a lot of,people aren't really running ads,compared to facebook so you should take,advantage of it while you can especially,while you can get up to twenty three,hundred dollars and free ad spend so,what they're doing right now because of,covet is once you set up your ad account,verify your business manager they're,gonna go ahead and give you 300 in free,ad credits and then after that you're,gonna be able to get an additional two,thousand dollars in free ad spend,because the way that tick tock ads works,for billing you have to add from a card,to your balance on tick tock so let's,say you put in a thousand dollars,they're gonna match that and put two,thousand dollars in your ad spend,balance and you can run ads with all,those funds so even if you're just,getting into e-commerce and you just,wanna save money or at least get more,bang for your buck i highly suggest you,take advantage of this while they're,still offering it and one last thing,here that i wish i knew before i,actually launched tick tock ads is to,not expect things to move super quick um,you know the ads that you actually,launch are manually reviewed i learned,from an ad rep that i've been working,with so it's not like an automated,system like facebook when you submit,your ads to run those have to get,manually reviewed by a person so there's,really two negative sides of this one,it's going to take longer to get,approved and two they're going to be,more strict and i notice that my ads get,approved somewhat based on the person,because sometimes something will get,approved and then someone else will,review that same ad if i put it in,another ad set or add group as tick tock,calls it and it'll get declined for one,specific reason but the process is,pretty easy where you can fix it so,we're gonna get into the actual ads,manager in one minute i'm gonna show you,how to set everything up but what you,need to do first before you can actually,run ads is make sure your pixel is set,up so if you're using shopify it's super,super easy just go to the app store type,in tick tock it's going to be a little,plug-in and then you'll go through there,check some marks and then you're good to,go it's going to automatically install,the pixel you don't have to do anything,manual and then all you have to do after,that is get the tick top pixel helper so,what that's going to be able to do is,you're going to be able to go on your,website look at that pixel helper and,make sure that your pixel is active and,if you're not seeing it just make sure,your ad blocker is disabled that's most,likely the reason and just go through,click add to cart go to your checkout,just make sure everything's firing,correctly and then once you do that,you're good to go so let's go ahead set,up some ads so this is what it actually,looks like on the tick tock ads manager,so it's actually very very similar to,facebook there's a few things that are,different but in the grand scheme of,things they're very very similar so deals and brand,partnerships i am seeing a wave of tick,tock sponsorships which is actually so,refreshing because a year ago i don't,think tick tock was getting the love it,deserved we were seeing lots of,instagram sponsorships and instagram,sponsored posts but i think brands are,finally seeing the light at the end of,the tunnel and starting to sponsor tick,tock creators so if you have an audience,on tick tock if you have a community of,people that like what you post and,engage with you and you're looking to,kind of go to a brand and say hey i got,your audience i got your people then you,are in luck because today's video is,going to set you in a really good place,to start getting sponsored on tick tock,now before i go ahead and get started if,you are new to this channel and,interested in all things brand deals,pitching creator economy social media,strategy,really love helping creators and all,things influencers so go ahead and,subscribe to this channel to be kept up,to date on the videos we post weekly so,when it comes to sponsorships let's,start at the beginning let's think about,what's the thought process right so if,you go to a brand and ask them to,sponsor you on tick tock it's because,you're basically saying i can give you,traffic now this is interesting because,i think influencers and tick-tockers and,creators they feel this pressure to sell,and the more i've been thinking about it,the more i actually think that it's,really not your job to convert it's the,brand's job to convert right it's,basically your job to generate traffic,to,the brand's website or to their link to,their call action what they're looking,for okay now obviously an influencer or,a creator that converts because they,talk about a product organically and,authentically and their audience loves,them yes these are all wins but remember,you don't like work for their team,you're not like a sales person sales are,great outcomes but really what the odd,brand is looking to is to access your,audience and,share a little bit about their brand,with your audience right sometimes,brands will have goals like brand,awareness it's not even sales especially,as someone who's worked on the brand,side you have to understand even this,year has been crazy with supply chain,stuff we have still kept our influencer,marketing efforts up but we weren't even,our goals weren't even sales right our,goals were brand awareness and to be,inserted in relevant conversations,online we didn't want to get left out,right so just something to consider now,again what's the thought process when,you're pitching to a brand if you're,trying to get a sponsorship on your,channel you're basically saying,i have humans that are really good fit,for you brand that i think would be,really interested in learning more about,you i think they'd be really good fit um,and it feels good because you as a,creator don't want to go to your humans,your audience and sell them something,they're not going to even like right so,just to give it like some perspective,here at sidewalk or daily we've done,sponsored youtube videos but they've,always been with brands that we use,anyways that we promote anyways so i,feel like good about going to my,audience of creators and saying hey you,should use them this is the mindset so,you're really going to a brand partner,and saying i have your audience let's,work together i will talk about your,product to my audience and because they,trust me and they love me and they have,been with me for a while i'm vouching,for you so this is really where it,starts when it comes to brand,partnerships so what does that mean for,you as a creator you have to ask,yourself do you have that trust with,your audience do you have that,relationship with your audience right,really when i think about influence and,sponsorship,for me influence is the ability to drive,someone into action so that action could,be like i said a swipe up a click,getting them to want to learn more to,sign up to an email list to participate,in a quiz to buy whatever but do you,have that trust with your audience that,they're gonna actually want to like,click and learn more and the better the,product is for your actual audience the,more chances that this campaign will do,well and that's why it's so important,that you also work with brands that make,sense for you okay so,this is really where i want you guys to,start thinking when you are thinking,about sponsorships i'm going to be,sharing to you obviously ways to go out,and get those sponsors but you have to,start there because you have to ask,yourself like do these people you know,is my audience going to react to what it,is that you know i am i am promoting is,it a good fit in the first place now,there are some if you're watching this video there's a,very good chance that you're working,with a brand,a client,or a fantastic partnership where you,have been asked for an ad authorization,code or the ad code for your tick tock,videos i'm going to show you exactly how,to do it today and after i share exactly,how to do it step by step i'm going to,share with you a few things that are,really helpful to know about,partnerships sponsorships and working,with clients who pay you for your,content especially on tick tock so the,first thing you're going to do is pull,up your tick tock profile,you're going to go to the three little,lines in the upper right hand corner,and you're going to click on creator,tools,from there you're going to go ahead and,scroll on down and you're going to,select ad settings so at the very bottom,you see how there's that thing that says,setting add settings make sure it is,turned on because this is going to give,you account access to being able to,generate those codes,then you're going to select the video,that you want to authorize for ads now,keep this in mind and i'll talk more,about this in just a moment but if there,is copyrighted music,in your video it may be difficult or,even impossible to run an ad to it don't,try to skirt that rule so if this,doesn't work there's a very good chance,that particular video is not being,approved for running ads all right,so what you're gonna do is you're gonna,pick the video that you wanna run ads to,i just pumped out a ton of videos this,week so i'm going to scroll on down to,one that has done better for me,i'm going to scroll on down and let's,pull it up beautiful,so i'm selecting this particular video,as a tick tock that could have an ad now,keep in mind there is copyrighted music,in this so this one i wouldn't actually,run as a true tried and true ad as a,sponsored piece unless i had purchased,the rights to run it as an ad so i'm,gonna go ahead and select those three,little dots underneath uh on the on the,right hand side the three little dots so,as if you were gonna pin the video save,the video duet the video or copy the,link,i'm gonna scroll all the way on over,to add settings right before delete just,be careful here that you don't,accidentally hit delete alright,so i'm going to go ahead and turn on the,add settings,you can decide whether or not you want,to show this only as an ad so it never,shows up on the for you page i probably,don't recommend that unless you're in a,special contract for that but i'm going,to go ahead and select add authorization,and turn it on once i have,agreed to the advertising content terms,of service i'm going to turn on that,you're going to see the video status,change it says the video status will,change from private of or friends to,available for ads so that the authorized,ad teams can view your video super,important note,do not use this if you don't want your,video to be public unless it only shows,up as an ad but keep in mind it's still,going to show up to people so you can't,prevent your friends or family from,seeing it or the high school bullies all,right so i'm going to hit okay,and then from there i'm going to click,or click generate code i get to,determine the length of time that that,is uh generated for so you can authorize,it for seven days 30 days 60 days or 365,i'm really glad they added the 365,option,so i'm going to do seven days and i'm,going to click authorize now i'm going,to blur out my my specific code for this,because i don't want you guys to see it,actually you're not able to see it here,which is kind of nice you can delete the,code you can copy the code or you can,extend the authorization period so if,the period runs out for the,authorization to use it as an ad and,your client or sponsorship wants to,extend it this is where you would extend,that length of time so i'm going to go,ahead and hit copy code and then it is,going to be good to rock and roll for,the next seven days,give that code to whoever it is that,wants to run ads and you are all set to,go but here are a few more things that,you need to know about running ads,especially if you're being sponsored if,you have been looking for sponsorships,so number one you don't want to use,copyright and copyrighted music in,videos that are going to ultimately be,ads we've actually come up against this,many times this being a recurring issue,even with some of the audio that tic toc,has said is approved for ads we've,actually had issues with it so i,personally use a tool that's i think,like 200 bucks for the year called art,list you can go to artless.io,and pay for the annual subscription so,you can get unlimited access to,copyright free royalty-free music that,you can use potentially depending on the,song's terms in your tick tocks with no,issues for ads the second thing i want,to share with you is that if something,is going to be an advertisement it's,according to the ftc's regulations you,actually have to disclose that it is an,ad even if you're not being paid for
